PROBABLE CAUSE
CORRECTION
Clutch adjustment not correct
Re-check adjustment per instructions
Replace pilot bearing and ensure proper seating in flywheel and tolerance to input shaft
Flywheel pilot bearing bound in flywheel or on input shaft
Damaged clutch release bearing
Replace with new clutch assembly
Reposition release shaft so it does not project; check bell housing bushings, cross shafts and release yoke for wear
Clutch release shaft projecting through release yoke
Release yoke hitting cover assembly at full release position Replace release yoke with proper yoke Release yoke not aligned properly with release bearing
Check flywheel has not been resurfaced more than the 060” maximum Check drive pins are 90° to flywheel surface and minimum 006” clearance between drive pins & center plate slots
Intermediate plate sticking on drive lugs (14” angle spring — 2 plate assemblies only)
Pressure plate not retracting fully
Check pressure plate drive lugs for 006” clearance
