TECH TIPS For maximum life and reliability, follow these tips in your routine maintenance schedule.
• Driers should be replaced every time the system is opened. Mark the installation date on the new drier. • Keep a maximum temperature drop of 5°F from inlet to outlet. • Always flush the A/C system to remove any contaminates, and replace any parts that cannot be flushed. It’s also a good practice to use inline suction filters to help catch any foreign material. Why is moisture bad in an air conditioning system? R134 + water = hydrofluoric acid that will etch holes through the compressor’s reed valves, the condenser and evaporator tubing. Moisture lowers A/C system performance and will freeze up the expansion valve. Don’t mix PAG and Ester oils. Incompatible oil mixtures are a leading cause of warranty rejections for “contamination.”
